Mercolan RN-40 is sodium salt of polyacrylic acid in aqueous solution. It can be used in emulsion paints, PVC as a wetting or dispersing agent. Very often it is combined with commercial polyphosphates and is applicable with all kinds of
frequently used dispersions like homo and copolymers. It will give high gloss and is very stable
with glycols.
Mercolan RN-40 is an ideal dispersing agent for a wide
range of water-borne coatings. It is added in the process to the base before adding pigments and fillers and also before starting the dispersing process. The dosage
needed for an optimum dispersing process depends on the type and amount of actual pigments and fillers.
